What is a digital dive logbook?

A digital dive logbook replaces paper with an app that records depth, duration, temperature, marine life, and more. Dive Ledger captures 30+ data points per dive and syncs across your devices.

Can I import dives from my dive computer?

Yes. Dive Ledger supports UDDF (Universal Dive Data Format) import, which is compatible with most dive computers and desktop dive log software. Import your entire dive history in seconds through Settings.

Does Dive Ledger work offline?

Absolutely. Dive Ledger is built offline-first, so your dive logs are stored locally on your device and fully accessible without internet. Cloud sync is optional and runs in the background when connectivity is available.

How many marine species can I identify?

Dive Ledger includes a database of 170 marine life species (fish, sharks, rays, invertebrates, and more) plus 205 corals, sponges, and anemones - all with photos for quick identification. Log your sightings directly from the species database and track your encounters over time.

Is my dive data secure?

Your data is stored locally on your device first. When cloud sync is enabled, data is encrypted in transit via TLS and stored securely on Supabase servers. You can export or delete your data at any time.

Can I export my dive logs to other platforms?

Yes. Dive Ledger supports UDDF export, the universal standard for dive log data. Export your complete dive history and import it into any compatible platform, dive computer software, or backup system.

Is Dive Ledger available on Android?

Dive Ledger is launching on iOS first. Android support is planned for a future release.

Can I connect with other divers?

Yes. Dive Ledger has a friend system that lets you search for other divers by email. You can also add manual buddy contacts to link to your dive logs.

What gear can I track?

Dive Ledger tracks 9 equipment types: wetsuit/drysuit, BCD, regulator, dive computer, fins, mask, tank, weights, and other. Set defaults so your gear is pre-filled for every new dive.

What dive types can I log?

Dive Ledger supports 10 specialized dive types: Cave, Drift, Ice, Night, Wall, Wreck, Shore, Boat, Deep, and Reef. Each dive can be tagged with its type for better organization and filtering.

Can I share my dives on social media?

Yes. Dive Ledger can generate shareable image cards from your dive details. Share your dive stats, depth profile, and location as a visual card on Instagram, WhatsApp, or any social platform.

What is SAC rate and how is it calculated?

SAC (Surface Air Consumption) rate measures how much air you breathe per minute at the surface. Dive Ledger automatically calculates your average SAC rate across all logged dives using tank size, pressure drop, depth, and duration. Track the trend over time on your stats dashboard to see your air efficiency improve.

Do I need an account to use the app?

No. Dive Ledger offers a full guest mode where you can log dives, track gear, and use all features without creating an account. If you want cloud sync and backup, you can optionally sign up at any time.

Can I try the app before logging my own dives?

Yes. Dive Ledger includes a sample dive that demonstrates all features: depth profile, marine life sightings, gear, and more. Explore the full app in guest mode with no sign-up required.

How do I submit feedback or report a bug?

Dive Ledger has a built-in feedback system accessible from Settings. Submit bug reports, feature requests, or general feedback directly from the app. You can also reach us at support@hdblabs.com.
